Frida Welcomed as Liveryman to The Furniture Makers’ Company

Frida Rush, founder and managing director of Aorta, has been welcomed as a Liveryman to The Furniture Makers Company. The Worshipful Furniture Makers Company is the British furnishing industry’s central organisation, charity and patron. It supports and nurtures the UK furnishing industry through core charitable activities which focus on excellence, education and welfare. Members are welcome from all walks of life as long as they are working in or have previously worked with the furniture making industry.

Frida joined as a Freeman in 2015. Having a doctorate in design Frida has valuable skills and experience in the furniture making industry which she wished to share with the company, contributing to their values of excellence and education. This year Frida was recruited as a Liveryman, an honour for those passionate about the industry*

She comments,

“I’m delighted to have been invited to become a Liveryman. It’s such an honour! I look forward to contributing ideas around the direction that the furniture industry should take in terms of standards of craftsmanship and manufacture. I also look forward to benefiting from opportunities that come from working alongside some of the leading businesses and individuals in the British furniture industry”.

Frida has been creating furniture for over 10 years, during the last three Frida has established her own business Aorta. Aorta offers bespoke interior design and handcrafted furniture for those seeking truly unique designs.
